I needed somewhere new to store my things as I had become increasingly concerned about the lack of security at my present lock up garage in Sidcup.
I was recommended South London Self Storage by a friend who has one of the storage units there and they have provided me with the perfect solution to my problem.
I have rented a 20 foot shipping container, which is new. This is in stark contrast to what I expected about container storage. The facility is very clean and tidy and I can drive right up to the entrance of my container. The access is flat and the areas around the containers are covered in type 1 hardcore, rather than a muddy field as I had imagined. It is also just a couple of minutes off the A2 which is extremely convenient.
The security is excellent, I won’t go into it here but it seems to be more than adequate. I have for the first time ever, felt entirely comfortable leaving anything valuable to me there without worrying about it at all.
Warren could not have been more helpful and made me feel 100% confident that I was making the right decision in taking the move from a slightly questionable lock up garage to a clean, modern, and most importantly secure storage facility.
This is a superb, modern and accessible facility, ideally-placed, not far from Dartford Tunnel, so especially useful for those of us needing access from both counties! Location is excellent; a quick hop from the A2, so convenient for near or long-hauls. The containers are brand-new, clean, fully-ventillated and totally secure. All at ground-level, making it a piece of cake to load/unload; 20 ft, which provides a huge and practical space for many applications, from motorbikes to cardboard boxes and more; we are using ours for general household goods and the ease of use and space has made a phenomenal difference to the clutter at home, :-) Security on this site is A1; also VERY easy to apply; 24 hr security-monitored, we were provided with the telephone number of the Control Room, plus a password that is regularly updated, and an access code for the electronically-controlled, substantial, metal/iron gates. Gates work smoothly and open wide enough for any size vehicle to easily pass through. Good, wide, access road and tracks inside the facility are all level and well-finished; plenty of parking available, near your container. Prices are very competitive; monthly or annual arrangement available; we are very impressed at the high standard that is provided for such a reasonable cost; we paid a little more at our last storage facility for an 'upstairs' container, (and had to haul a huge gantry around to get access!) and had none of the benefits we are enjoying at S.L.S.S.; we are so glad we made the move ourselves and would recommend this storage facility to everybody for all requirements. The owner is extremely professional, whilst being totally approachable and diligent regarding security and the maintenance of the site; we have had no issues whatsoever, have had great input from Warren, to explain how to use aspects of the site (easy) and we know that if we have any type of issue, assistance is available very quickly; the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed, whilst still working like a well-oiled machine. Easy to enquire and hire a container; either phone or book online; the whole process is very user-friendly and consistently undergoing further improvements for extra convenience. This is the best self-storage site we have seen anywhere, and we are very happy customers indeed. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I found South London Self Storage using a search of "local secure storage compounds". I called the number online and spoke to Warren. We live in SE London so he's only 15 minutes by car. The compound is monitored with secure access via keypad on the gate, as you drive in there is some available space for larger items, then the rows of 20' containers. I chose where I wanted my space to be and then Warren took me around to show me how he had secured the site and how cctv monitors it 24/7/365. The site itself is set back off the road, it's not readily visible from the road. So far I'm happy with the service, everything is working as I had hoped it would. Was look for storage for my work related items and contacted south London self storage. They was very helpful and with an on-site meeting to look at storage solutions! Warren has been an absolute lifesaver being able to offer safe, secure covered storage for a large private car collection, at short notice, after I suddenly lost a barn I was renting for almost twenty years. Warren has gone out of his way to help, and accommodate me and my requirements. It made a potentially stressful experience into a nice easy smooth move. Warren is an absolute legend. Super helpful and extremely accommodating. His storage place has the highest form of security I've come across. The prices are some the best around, especially for the area. I have absolutely no worries about leaving my cars there, because i know they will be safe and out of sight. If you want somewhere to store your vehicle, or a container to keep your items safe and dry, I would very highly recommend this place.
Absolutely amazing service! I couldn’t be happier with my experience at South London Self Storage. The whole process was smooth and stress-free from start to finish. The prices are really competitive and the containers are clean, watertight and accessible during 8am-6pm five days a week with Saturdays between 8am-2pm. The site is accessed via a security coded main gate and the site has monitored security too. I would recommend this facility for good, affordable storage."
