Terms & Conditions

1. Storage

  • You may store goods only in the unit allocated to you, once all fees are paid.

  • You confirm you own or have the right to store the goods.

  • We do not have knowledge of your goods stored and do not take responsibility of items you may store.

 

 

2. Costs

  • A deposit is due when signing. It will be refunded (minus any costs or damage) within 10 working days after termination.

  • Storage fees are due in advance on the first day of each storage period.

  • You are responsible for:

    • Storage fees and taxes

    • Cleaning or repair costs

    • Late fees for missed payments

    • Debt collection or legal costs

  • We may apply payments to your oldest outstanding debt.

 

 

3. Late Payment & Default

  • If you miss a payment by 4 days, We may:

    • Lock you out of the unit

    • Move or sell your goods to recover the debt

    • Continue charging storage fees until payment or sale

  • If you leave goods behind, We may treat them as abandoned and dispose of or sell them after giving notice.

  • Sale proceeds go toward costs and debt. Any remaining balance will be returned to you.

 

 

4. Access

  • You may access your unit during posted Access Hours ONLY.

  • The Gates are deactivated 5 minutes after closing times anyone locked in will have to pay to have the gates opened.  

  • Only you or your authorised representatives may enter.

  • We may refuse access if payments are overdue or safety is at risk.

  • We can enter your unit (with or 24 hours notice. For emergencies, repairs, inspections, or legal requirements, No notice is required.

 

 

5. Conditions of Use

  • You must:

    • Use your own padlock and keep the unit secure

    • Keep the unit clean and in good condition

    • Notify Us of damage or safety issues immediately

  • Do not store:

    • Perishables, animals, flammable or hazardous items, weapons, illegal goods.

  • Units are for storage only — not living, business use, or mail.

 

 

6. Risk & Responsibility

  • Goods stored at your own risk. We are not liable for theft, damage, or loss unless caused by negligence.

  • We do not insure your goods. You must keep them fully insured at replacement value.

  • You are responsible for any damage or claims caused by your goods or use of the unit.

  • We are not liable for delays or access issues caused by events outside our control (e.g. fire, flood, strike, power failure).

 

 

7. Personal Information​

  • Data may be shared with insurers, debt collectors, or legal authorities when required.

  • You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data.

 

 

 

8. Notice

  • All notices must be in writing and sent by hand, post, email, or SMS.

  • Notices are considered received 48 hours after posting or one hour after being emailed/texted.

  • 1 months notice be given to us when you want hand back the container storage.

 

 

9. Termination

 

  • We may terminate immediately for illegal activity or serious breach of site rules and procedures. 

  • You must remove all goods and leave the unit clean on termination; otherwise, we may treat items as abandoned.

  • Any removal fees or cleaning fees will be charged to you (the account holder)

 

 

10. General

  • We may change fees or terms with 28 days’ notice. Continued use means acceptance.

  • Any disputes should first go to mediation before court action.

  • This agreement is the entire contract.

 

 

11. Condensation / Damp

  • Condensation occurs when damp goods are stored or the unit is left open in wet weather.

  • It is advisable to store dry items and cover goods with plastic sheeting.

  • It is advised to open the unit at least once a week for airflow to prevent moisture build up.

 

 

 

1. Website Use

You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use of the Site.

Prohibited behaviour includes:

  • Using the Site in any way that may cause damage to the Site or impair its performance or accessibility.

  • Conducting any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting, or any other similar activity.

  • Engaging in any advertising or marketing without our written consent.

2. Intellectual Property

All content published on this Site, including but not limited to text, images, logos, and software, is the property of South London Self Storage or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise exploit any content without our prior written consent.

3. Products or Services (if applicable)

All services made through the Site are subject to our Refunds policies, which are incorporated by reference into these Terms. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any product or service at any time without notice.

4. User Accounts 

You may be required to create an account to access certain features of the Site. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

6. Disclaimer

This Site and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will be available at all times or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, South London Self Storage shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Site or services.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless South London Self Storage, its officers, employees, and affiliates, from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
